About Alysa
Personal Background
Alysa Kassay, originally from New York, now proudly calls North Carolina home. For the last 25 years with her husband, she has raised her adult children right here in the piedmont triad.
Professional Journey
Alysa Kassay is a 30-year retired supervisory civil servant who spent her career serving the American people — not in the spotlight, but at one of the most misunderstood agencies in government. Alysa secured both her college degree’s while working full time and raising her family. She is a graduate of Randolph Community College then went on to earn her bachelor at UNC-Greensboro.

She began her journey at the Internal Revenue Service at just 19 years old, starting as a clerk and working her way up to become a respected supervisor. In that role, Alysa led a team of federal agents who helped taxpayers during some of their hardest moments — often while they were facing bankruptcy or financial crisis.
Her leadership in government wasn’t about politics or power — it was about making government work better for the people it serves. She built a reputation for aligning people, policies, and purpose — by listening, by showing respect, and by leading with compassion.
She often says the most rewarding part of her job wasn’t the title, but the ability to mentor, train, and uplift others. For Alysa, leadership means guiding, not controlling — and learning just as much as you teach.
Now, she’s taking that same results-driven approach — backed by a clear plan, bold vision, and a deep commitment to North Carolina’s values — into her run for Congress.
Community Involvement
Alysa’s life is defined by her dedication to service and her belief that everyone deserves a fair shot. From serving as a Guardian ad Litem to volunteering with the Girl Scouts and local food banks, she has always been there for her community. A longtime member of the NAACP and the National Treasury Employees Union (NTEU), Alysa has championed equality, integrity, and the rights of workers throughout her career. Her involvement in environmental initiatives and her support for the VITA program reflect her deep commitment to building a stronger, fairer North Carolina.
